It is totally better than any FIRC by American Flyers, and it is basically comparable to the ones produced by AOPA. the materials produced are, in effect, a summary of all of the aeronautical knowledge needed while teaching a student pilot. It is totally "user-friendly." I totally enjoyed using this course rather than sitting within a classroom with "boring stories" brought on by other CFIs -- having no relevance to obtaining a CFI revalidation -- these "yaps" were just BS, etc. Thank you for producing a program that has total relevance to being a CFI. 		June, 2009 This is my first time renewing my CFI using a FIRC. and is the best course I found online. AOPA weekend courses didnt fit my work schedule. and I American Flyers, though cheap was not engaging and I couldnt sit through it. With Gleim you could download the course chapters and read it off line, then take the quiz later. I made four transcontinental trips this week(in 6 days). I got 12 chapters done. So even when I was cooped up in an airplane, as long as I had my laptop, I could progress; with or without connection to the internet. For anyone who has renewed with a mere rating every 2years, I strongly recommend you supplement it with this system. There are MANY changes since I last was a full time flight instructor. Some really interesting and fun sounding things are being done in light GA now. Gleim worked best best for me because they understand the learning process. They may not have cool videos. Being able to complete my FIRC at my own speed as time permits is the most convenient way for me to do it. It's nice to attend a course with other CFI's if you have the time and money for the interaction part, but to be honest, I don't want to spend my time in a classroom on a rigid schedule. At the Part 141 school where I teach you can always tell who is preparing for a knowledge test or checkride by the red book they're carrying around campus. I enjoyed being able to do one or two lessons per evening at my own pace, on my own schedule, and in my own home. I tried a competitor's on-line course (the free trial first lesson), and found it cluttered with stories and illustrations that were not that useful in answering the test questions. I felt that the Gleim approach was more direct and focused, and I went back to the Gleim FIRC. I will be back again in two years. I continue to recommend Gleim to my flight instructor friends. 		November, 2003 This is my second FIRC with Gleim and my 17th FIRC. I've sat in hotel meeting rooms and looked at fuzzy, dim 35mm slides, hated sitting in hard plastic chairs in a windowless basement classroom with crummy PowerPoint slides copied from the AIM, but no more. The decision to allow on-line training has allowed me to study and do lessons on my own schedule and in a level of comfort far more motivating than an airport hotel meeting room (with the guy in the row behind snoring through the afternoon session on aerodynamics of slow flight). Others may be slightly less expensive or tout their snazzy graphics, but the Gleim FIRC provides a topical, easily used flight instructor renewal course. 		May, 2002 The convenience of the course is extraordinary; I was able to complete it over a two (2) month period, when I had nothing better or more important to do. Also, I like that I have the course material printed out, so that I may review it, as desired, and it is completely organized - especially, the Internet resources, since most of my instruction now takes place in Boeing Type simulators, both for airlines and private type rating schools.
