The FAA has recently begun offering a direct issuance of US pilot certificates to holders
of Canadian pilot certificates. Those qualified Canadian pilots who are interested may now
take a condensed, 40-question written test and earn an FAA pilot certificate based on their
Canadian pilot certificate, without having to take a flight test.

The Canadian Conversion* test questions are taken from existing FAA Knowledge Test
question banks. The tests (for private, instrument, commercial, and ATP) focus on Federal
Aviation Regulations (FARs), Airspace, and FAA procedures.

Our Canadian Conversion Online Ground School (OGS) has been tailored to meet the specific
needs of pilots seeking reciprocal FAA certificates based on their Canadian certificates.
With Canadian Conversion OGS, there is no need to pick and choose study units from other
courses; it's all right here. Gleim OGS contains all of the specific information that is
necessary to study for the written test in an easily accessible, immediately available
online format. With OGS, you can start working for your reciprocal FAA pilot certificate
today!

*NOTE: The FAA refers to this opportunity for Canadian pilots as a "conversion."
Although we have named our courses to reflect the FAA's terminology, we believe that
"reciprocal" better describes the process. "Conversion" suggests that Canadian
pilots will have to surrender their Canadian licenses once they receive the equivalent FAA
certificate. In truth, however, Canadian pilots choosing to pursue a conversion FAA certificate
will simultaneously hold (and be able to exercise the privileges of) both certificates.
