Predictions about the 2018 CPA Exam Pass Rates

  • Pass rates tend to rise in Q2 and Q3, and, with AUD and REG already starting with record-high Q1 passing data, these two sections have the potential to continue to break records and join BEC with pass rates in the high 50s. The fact that the 2018 CPA Exam changes will create an easier testing experience for candidates only increases the chances that AUD and REG will achieve some particularly high 2018 CPA Exam pass rates.
  • Even though FAR’s figures were historically low, there’s hope that FAR will not continue to post record-low pass rates in the later quarters for two reasons. First, as we stated previously, pass rates generally rise in Q2 and Q3. Second, the Q2 CPA Exam changes will improve the testing experience, and in particular, the integration of Excel will make performing FAR’s multiple-choice question calculations much smoother, so that benefit could add to the Q2 and Q3 bumps.
