New Content Specification Outlines from the AICPA

Gleim ensures you will spend your time reviewing, not worrying whether your materials are current.

On January 1, 2011, the new Content Specification Outlines (CSOs) and Skill Specification Outlines (SSOs) began being tested on the CPA Exam.

The outline portions of the content specifications identify the extent of the technical content to be tested on each of the four sections of the CPA exam. The outlines list the areas, groups, and topics to be tested.

The Skill Specification Outlines (SSOs) identify the skills to be tested on the CPA exam. There are three categories of skills, and the weightings will be implemented through the use of different question formats in the exam. For each of the question formats, a different set of tools will be available as resources to the candidates, who will need to use those tools to demonstrate proficiency in the applicable skills categories.

Both the CSOs and SSOs can be found here.

Gleim released the 2011 edition in the fourth quarter of 2010. The 2011 edition reflects the changes to the CSOs and SSOs that began being tested on January 1, 2011. Make sure you are always studying with the current edition, and you can rest assured you are reviewing the appropriate information.
