Prepare for the CPA Exam: What to do for exam day

Prometric exam sites vary in how they are operated. Talk to someone who took an exam at the site you plan to use. Ask him/her for information about the site and for any suggestions (s)he might have.

Additionally, make sure you know where the exam site is and how to get there before test day. Some Prometric centers are in hard-to-find locations. Note that many are part of Sylvan Learning Centers.

A few days prior to taking your exam, call your Prometric testing center and confirm your appointment; leave as little as possible to chance.

One way to become familiar with your chosen test site is to do a Prometric Test Drive (register for $30 at sometime before your first section. A Test Drive is a 30-minute, real-world, end-to-end practice run at Prometric. You will not receive real CPA exam questions, but you will be able to experience locating your test site, checking in, and running through a generic sample test.

NOTE: The Test Drive should not be used as a replacement for the AICPA's Sample Test or the Gleim Practice Exam.
