I struggled with the exam for a while. Part of the reason was because I couldn't find the focus I needed to study and the other part was because the test prep material I was using was so overwhelming, I never really developed a good study plan. After a two year break from studying, I started back again. I passed one exam with the same study material as before, but I knew I was not going to be able to afford the material for the rest of the sections. After asking a few colleagues about Gleim, I decided to give it a shot. All I can say is that I wish I had used it from the beginning! I purchased Gleim at the time the CPA exam was doing its very first computer testing. Since no one had taken the computer version, there was no one to get advice from because CPAs only had the written test to talk about. I have a pilot friend who said that he used the Gleim products to help him with his aviation tests and really liked how they were set up. It was good enough for me. On my way to work, I would listen to a cassette tape. It gave me great inspiration to keep a positive attitude. I worked six days a week and rested on Sunday with no studying. I found Gleim's system to be the easiest way to practice multiple-choice questions and learn what I did correct or incorrect for each question. Their system of multiple-choice practice exams and study questions is by far the best of any study system.

I used the Gleim outlines and problem/solutions manuals to study for the November, 1977 CPA exam. Other candidates gathered as much material as they could to study for the exam. I learn better by eliminating excess detail and concentrating on the key elements of study. The Gleim outlines provided the core information that I needed to learn without overkill. I studied them for 1 hour a day and worked problems in the problem/solutions manuals for 1 hour a day for six months leading up to the exam. I was able to pass the exam in one sitting, which only 6% of the candidates were able to do. Since that time, I have used Gleim for much of my CPE and have been very satisfied with the price, presentation, and accuracy of the courses provided.

As I prepared to start the review course, I re-read System for Success and decided I would "work the program" the way Gleim suggests. Through all four sections I continued to "work the program." This lead to passing all four sections with no retakes. Even in my weakest section, Audit, I was able to use Gleim successfully. It baffles me that anyone would pay twice as much. Gleim system is a powerhouse. With the different formats I was able to study on the beach, in the car, at work, on the bus, you name it. Also, my personal counselor was helpful in getting answers to questions and providing encouragement. I am so thankful that I got through in one shot. The time commitment to review for the exams is huge. I would hate to have to re-study and sacrifice my free time again to pass.

The Gleim system worked great for me. I took a test each testing window this year and passed each one with no score below an 82. I finished my accounting degree in 1989 and had worked out of the industry until three years ago. I had used Gleim 20 years ago when I passed the CMA--so there was no question that I would choose Gleim again [for the CPA exam]. The study material was very helpful. When I was driving or working out I would listen to the CD's. I would use the Test Prep material on my lap top when I was traveling or just before taking the test. The online material helped keep me focused on what to study next. The audit material really supplied me with very practical material that I could use in my job.

I cleared the Uniform CPA exams on the first attempt during August 2009 scoring 78 in FIN and REG, 80 in AUD, and 93 in BEC. I've found Gleim's materials to be very helpful in preparing me to take the exams. Thanks to Gleim's materials, I passed AUD, REG, and BEC on the first time sitting for each exam. Gleim's materials were very effective, comprehensive, and easy to use. I liked how each exam section was broken down in to 20 units, and how each unit was further broken down. My study technique usually involved using the online questions, audio-visual presentation, true/false, hard-copy book, and online simulation. I would then re-cap with the CD-rom questions. The CD rom questions and online simulations nearly mirror the actual testing environment, and that makes it much easier to take the exam. I also enjoyed the encouraging thoughts on taking the exam provided in one of the pamphlets provided when I purchased the materials.

I passed all four sections as of August 2007. I just wanted to say Thank you for such a great review program. It saved me a lot of money. Thanks again for always being there when I had questions. Keep doing what you are doing!

I used Gleim Test Prep software for MCQs and their online-simulations for the FARE and REG exams. Both the products I used were wonderful from day 1. First, I never had a problem installing them. It was very simple. The Test Prep software is very user-friendly and contains variety of customizable usage options which was really handy! The number of questions is huge and the level of coverage is extensive. The answer choices provide good explanations, updated law provisions wherever needed and are well-presented. The simulations are a replica of how they appear on the actual exam. Even though they were online, I had no problems accessing them. Lastly, their entire range of products is extremely cost-effective and high value for the money. Other similar products in the market are providing similar options but at an extremely high cost which is just not justifiable. I would recommend this excellent and easy way to clearing the CPA exams, just like I did, to anyone.

I wish the Gleim CD based training and tests were around when I took the CPA exam in 1976. My wife had been a student of Professor Gleim at the University of Florida and still had her CPA Review books that were part of the text used in the Advanced Accounting class. I reviewed these as I could while working my first tax season out of college. I got passing grades in Practice and Auditing, but got scores in the 90's on the Theory and Law parts. I credit that to the CPA review books as I would never have had time to go back through my text books to prepare. In 2004, I was audit director for a major segment of a Fortune 100 company and decided I needed to get my CIA certification. This was during the height of Sarbanes-Oxley documentation and testing. I used the Gleim CD-based CIA review course, mostly focusing on the sample tests to get used to the types of questions and to make sure I know what I needed to focus on. I managed to pass the exam in my first sitting, getting the "William Smith Award" for one of the top scores on that exam. I really give the credit to the Gleim study materials that were so efficiently designed and on-point that there was little covered on the exam that I was not prepared to answer. I am now Chief Financial Officer for a Georgia-based insurance company and I encourage our CPA's and CPA candidates to use Gleim for their CPE and exam preparation.

I started using Gleim Publications after a recommendation from a friend of mine who had used Gleim books. I was using other books to study but the presentation did not seem quite right. I was also advised to make use of Gleim Online Simulation package. Initially I ignored that aspect, and I quickly found out that my weak point was actually answering the simulation questions. Gleim Online solved my fear of answering simulation questions. I used Gleim books for 3 out of the four papers. I found the books clear, straight to the point and the simulation exercises at the end of each chapter were very good. I would advise anybody to go for Gleim books, get the Q & E discs and also sign up for Online simulation practice. Gleim material is very reasonable in terms of costs as compared with other books and they are a must for any candidate who wants to get through the CPA very fast.

I became a CPA in February. Gleim, hands down, was the best method to study. Thank you very much for your products!
