This course is designed to provide an overview of the process involved in the collection of evidence to test management’s assertions related to the balances reported on the financial statements.

It is intended for individuals who need a refresher or update in audit evidence concepts. After completing this course, you will be able to

  • Determine the sufficiency and appropriateness of audit evidence obtained by the auditor
  • Apply analytical procedures necessary to perform an audit
  • Review management representation letters
  • Answer technical questions on inquiries of a client’s legal counsel about litigation, claims, and assessments
  • Recognize the auditor’s responsibilities for subsequent events and subsequently discovered facts
  • Determine the effects of a specialist’s work on the auditor’s report
  • Identify related party transactions
  • Identify sufficient appropriate evidence to support the statement of cash flows.
