CPA Exam Score Release Dates for 2019

2019 CPA Exam Score Release Dates

The AICPA published its Q1 and Q2 CPA Exam score release dates for 2019. We’ve gathered the dates here so you can see when you should receive your score after you sit for the exam. Mark it on your calendar!

2019 CPA Exam Score Release Dates

The AICPA calls the dates NASBA releases scores to boards of accountancy “target dates.” Some boards may require at least one additional day beyond the published target date to process and release scores. This means you may not receive your CPA Exam score on these exact days, but you should expect to have it soon after.

Notes about the timing

  • After you finish your CPA Exam, Prometric sends the files to the AICPA within 24 hours. If the AICPA receives your Exam files after the cutoff time, your score will be released at the next target release date.
  • The BEC section may require additional time for scoring due to the written communication tasks, so you could receive your score approximately one week after the target score release date.
  • Note that not all boards of accountancy receive their scores via the NASBA website. CA, IL, KY, MD, and ND candidates will receive scores from their board of accountancy’s website. All other states will obtain their scores from the NASBA candidate portal.

Rolling Score Release Dates Are Back

The rolling release of Exam scores will return in 2019. From what we can see for Q1 and Q2, CPA Exam candidates can expect four release dates for each testing window.

The CPA Exam went through major changes in 2017, which brought fewer score release dates after Q2. The AICPA reduced the number of score release dates in the subsequent testing windows to give itself time to set standards and validate the CPA passing score after the CPA Exam updates. The 2018 CPA Exam score release dates continued in the same pattern, with only a handful of release dates scheduled after Q1 2018.

For some candidates, a delayed CPA Exam score release may leave credit for passed exam sections in jeopardy. When this happens, NASBA and the state boards of accountancy have worked together to address the unique situations of each candidate in this position.
