The AICPA publishes Opens in new window its CPA Exam score release dates annually. We’ve gathered the dates here so you know when you can expect to receive your score after you sit for the exam. Mark it on your calendar!
NASBA releases scores to boards of accountancy on “target dates.” Some boards may require at least one additional day beyond the published target date to process and release scores. This means you may not receive your CPA Exam score on these exact days, but you should expect to have it soon after.

AICPA has already announced the planned score release dates for 2027. Due to AICPA’s plan to change the CPA Exam platform interface in July 2027, the score release timeline is impacted for Q3 2027 through Q2 2028.

NOTE: Not all boards of accountancy receive their scores via the NASBA website. CA, IL, KY, MD, and ND candidates will receive scores from their board of accountancy’s website. All other states will obtain their scores from the NASBA candidate portalOpens in new window.
Faster score reporting
Continuous testing allows you to get your scores 1-2 weeks after you take a Core CPA Exam section, as opposed to prior years when score releases were batched for each window. Candidates used to wait a month or longer to receive their scores.
Easier to schedule
No more “testing windows.” You now have the freedom to decide when you want to sit for a Core CPA Exam section. Other than the few blackout dates the AICPA uses to update the exam, you can schedule for whenever is convenient.
Better for retakes
Now that candidates receive scores promptly, no one has to spend weeks studying for their next section only to find out they have to retake their last one. Continuous testing allows you to take the exam again in two weeks, while the content is still fresh in your mind.
